Is this the end of advertising on Facebook?
Good morning, afternoon or evening,
As you may have heard, Facebook has been under extreme scrutiny since the fallout of the Cambridge data analytics debacle.
And now on Friday Facebook will officially announce the end of reach estimates in advertising campaigns that use custom audience targeting.
The reason behind this? Because a research team notified Facebook of a potential vulnerability which would allow you to exploit the custom audience targeting and infer attributes of individuals uploaded via email, meaning it could be possible to build comprehensive profiles without a user knowing.
Facebook is investigating the potential vulnerability and until it is resolved the potential reach on custom advertising will not be provided.
