Winning on Instagram – Figuring out the best time to post
Good morning, afternoon or evening,
Do you schedule your Instagram posts when the majority of your followers are online?
Why should you do this? Because the Instagram algorithm cares very much about the engagement your posts get and how quickly it gets them!
So posting at a time when your followers are online greatly increases the odds of gaining likes. It’s also a great signal to Instagram that the content you post is of good quality meaning your posts will be shown to more of your followers.
- Generally, there are two best times to post on Instagram, during lunchtime and in the evenings; these will be 11am – 1pm & 7pm – 9pm respectively.
- Figure out where you followers are based, as you might be surprised to find your followers based on a different timezone to yourself!
- Generally, Wednesday & Thursday tend to have a slightly higher level of engagement than most days.
Despite all of this it is still important to do your own research and investigate the best times to post for your audience and industry.
